Phase 1 results are in

I'm here at the hospital and we just met with Dr. Link about the results of phase 1 of Chemo. The results are very positive, she is technically in remission already. She does have some residual mass in her chest, and that may be there forever. The mass is not reactive in the PET scan, so that means it is not growing and will just need to be monitored. Other than that, she looks as good as she can look at this phase. Dr. Link said its a major hurdle that needs to be crossed, %94 of people with Lymphoma make it through Phase 1, and Emily is in that camp ! I'm so happy that all of what she's been through continues to pay off. So it took 6 weeks to knock the cancer away, now we have to keep it that way.

A big hurdle has been crossed with the completion of Phase 1. Knowing Emily is right on track is wonderful news, even though she has been through so much. Emily is so wonderful. Give her a big hug and a kiss from me.

This is awesome news. It was wonderful to see you and your mom at school the other day and I know that Mrs. Smith and your classmates were very excited to see you. I saw the cap that Mrs. Smith knit for you. I hope you like it - she tells me that you would like one with a flower and we are looking for a pattern. Love and hugs to you and your family. I hope the rest of the week goes well for all of you.

Dear Chris,

I am so thankful that Emily has made it safely and with such great results through the first phase of treatment. She will get stronger during the next phase and even more during the third phase. I hope the night went well. Let me know when we can come by...my daughter would like to meet Emily. They will probably relate well to each other. Hope the blood transfusion gave her a little more enery.
Take care,
Theresa
