Day in SF

We went up to San Francisco today and it turned out to be a really good day up there. We drove up after breakfast and a slow morning at home. It was around 90 degrees with no wind in San Francisco which is very unusual, it was almost too hot. We took the girls out on a ferry ride to Saucalito in the afternoon, which is just across the golden gate bridge. It was a really nice day to be out on the bay, maybe the only slightly cooler place today, it was so hot. We spent a little time in Saucalito, and then caught the Ferry back to the Ferry building in S.F. We had dinner in the ferry building and made our way back home. The girls had a great time, and so did Tracy and I.

Emily is feeling great and her cough is all but gone. She has a ton of energy, and she's always having fun with her little sister. This coming Tuesday she will start her 5 days of Prednisone. On Wednesday she will have her I.V. chemo and her exam from her doctors.

I was pleased to see that Emily is feeling so good. That mini-vacation in SF sounds wonderful...better a little hot than too cold and damp. Sausalito is a beautiful place and one of our favorite restaurants is up there (Poggio's). It is so very nice that Emily and Haley are friends as well as sisters. Sounds like this is a big week coming up for Emily. She is such a champion! We are off to Golden Gate Fields for "dollar day" (They do it every Sunday.) to watch the horses run and maybe eat hot dogs. I can only hope that we have as much fun as you guys always do.

I am glad that you were able to find some place that was a little cooler on Saturday - I was at a backyard party on Saturday afternoon and the heat made it gruelling....I have taken that ferry ride before and it is so fun....I was driving through the neighborhood last evening with a friend and saw Tracey and Emily and Haley playing outside on the grass by your home. I am sure that Emily is the best "big sister" ever. I hope all of Emily's procedures go well this week and that we will all finally get a break from the heat.

"Hugs" to Emily and Haley

Chris,

We are happy to hear the continued good news about Emilys cough improvement. It sounds like she is really getting back into being a normal little girl and that is good news.
Sounds like you had fun in SF escaping the heat. Its one of my favorite places and its rare that the weather makes it possible to wear short sleeves.
Love to all,

So good to hear Emily's cough is almost completely gone. That was a tough row to hoe for her and very worrisome for her parents. Sounds like a great day in SF was had by all.
