On hold

Emily's ANC level today was 298 which was too low to continue with chemo tomorrow, so she will likely be delayed a week. We have discontinued all chemo medication until her levels get higher. I am not sure of the threshold they are looking for, but I would guess 500. Her next check will be on Friday.

That is an ANC for the record books. It has been great to hear about how well Emily is doing despite these low neutrophil counts. You guys are so inspirational! Truly.

Hi guys,

So happy Emily is feeling well. I believe you are right that they will start the chemo again when her ANC hits 500. She will enjoy the short time off of the chemotherapy...that is for sure. Keep all those with colds away from that cutie Emily. Talk to you soon.

We hope Emily's ANC levels continue to rise so she can get back on track with her treatments soon. We hope you are all doing okay. Sending lots of good wishes and love your way.

Chris and Tracy,
It was great seeing Emily this past weekend. It was good to see that she was so energetic, despite her anemia.

We just received our second shipment of "Relentless" Red Wristbands from the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society website. Belinda will be sending some your way. Our whole family has been wearing the bands. They serve as great reminder to us all of the relentless fight Emily is waging; as well as raising awareness with others who ask us about the bands.

If anyone is interested in getting some, they are on the L&L Society website. They only sell them in packs of 10. There are 2 sizes, Adult and Youth. They can be kind of tricky to locate on the website, so here are the direct links.
